Obverse: Radiate bust of Gordian III, left, seen from front, wearing cuirass and paludamentum; gorgoneion on breastplate; right hand raised, holding globe in the left hand. Legend: ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ΑΥΓ. Reverse: Radiate emperor (Gordian) in military attire standing left, holding spear and sphere, from which a Nike with wreath and palm branch floats towards him. Legend: ΟΔΗϹϹΕΙΤΩΝ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 20.43 g (from 1 recorded specimen) and a diameter of 32–35 mm (from 1 recorded specimen). Recorded findspots: Xanten.
