Historical context
Specimens of this Hellenistic bronze coin, dated to around 275–250 BC under the ruler Adaios in Thrace, have been recorded at findspots including Seuthopolis and Maroneia. Seuthopolis was an ancient Hellenistic capital of the Odrysian kingdom, founded by the Thracian king Seuthes III between 325 and 315 BC.
