Double unit in bronze struck at Traianopolis in Thrace under Diadumenian, dated AD 217–218. Corpus Nummorum, the online type corpus of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, records it as CN type 2829 (period: Roman Imperial Period; issuing authority type: city).

Obverse: Bare-headed bust of Diadumenian, right, wearing paludamentum. Legend: Μ ΟΠΕΛΛΙΟϹ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ. Reverse: Artemis advancing right, holding bow in left hand and drawing arrow from quiver at shoulder; at her feet, hound. Legend: ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 4.39 g (from 1 recorded specimen) and a diameter of 21–23 mm (from 2 recorded specimens). Historical context

Diadumenian, Latin Marcus Opellius Antoninus Diadumenianus, was the son of Roman emperor Macrinus. He was elevated to the rank of caesar in May 217 following his father's accession to the throne, and later served briefly as co-ruler in 218 before both were defeated and executed. This bronze double unit was issued between AD 217 and 218 by the civic authority of Traianopolis in Thrace during Diadumenian's brief imperial tenure.
