Brisé fan of wood on which on both sides a Chinese scene [in] a cartouche in lacquerwork of two colours of gold on a black ground. The fan has 24 contiguous sticks held together with a purple satin ribbon.
The three small cartouches near the upper edge and the large central cartouche contain Chinese figures near pavilions. The compartments are framed with a band containing feathers or spiral-like shapes. The background of the fan consists of a brownish-black grain and with large red-gold flowers.
