Historical context

Antiocheia Troas, also known as Alexandria Troas, was an ancient Greek city located along the Aegean Sea on Turkey's western coast. It sat within the Troad, or Troas, a historical region of northwestern Anatolia bounded by the Dardanelles to the northwest and Mount Ida to the east. This bronze coin was struck during the Hellenistic period between c. 281 and 270 BC under the authority of the city.
