Obverse: Head of ram, right. Legend: ΑΝΤΙΟ. Reverse: Laureate head of Apollo, right. Historical context

This coin was produced in the Hellenistic Period as a civic issue of Antiocheia Troas. The city, also known as Alexandria Troas or Alexandria of the Troad, was an ancient Greek settlement situated on the Aegean Sea in the historical region of the Troad, also known as Troas. Located in northwestern Anatolia across the modern Biga Peninsula in Çanakkale Province, Troas was bounded by the Aegean Sea to the west and the Dardanelles to the northwest.
