Kallatis, also known as Callatis, was an ancient Greek city located on the Black Sea coast. Gordian III served as Roman Emperor from 238 until his death in 244, having acceded to sole imperial power at thirteen years of age. This bronze five-unit denomination was struck under his reign by the civic authorities of Kallatis in the Roman province of Moesia inferior.
