Historical context
Antandros, also known as Antandrus, was an ancient Greek city situated in the Troad region of Anatolia, along the northern coast of the Gulf of Adramyttium. The surrounding area was known as Antandria and included settlements such as Aspaneus and Astyra. Located on Devren hill in the modern Edremit district of Balıkesir Province, Turkey, the city functioned as an autonomous issuing authority during the Classical Period, striking its own civic coinage around 375–350 BC.
