Record status
Individual type · partial
This hand-carved block meerschaum tobacco pipe is an artisanal piece crafted by Ismet Bekler in Turkey. The pipe features an intricate, figural bowl sculpted in the likeness of a bearded man, possibly a Sultan or a Middle Eastern figure, wearing a cap adorned with a draped tassel.
The bowl is connected to a curved, translucent orange-amber acrylic stem. The pipe is accompanied by a custom-fitted blue velvet presentation case, which features a yellow satin-lined interior and a gold-toned metallic label reading "BLOCK MEERSCHAUM MADE IN TURKEY." The set includes a functional metal pipe tamper tool with a crescent-shaped head. The pipe shank is explicitly marked with the maker's name, I. Bekler, along with the initials E.C.D. and the number 98.
The exterior of the case is branded with a logo containing the initials CAO and the name I. Bekler. The overall dimensions of the set are 3 inches by 8 inches by 4 inches.
