Historical context

In Late Antiquity, it additionally functioned as a standard unit of weight defined as 1⁄72 of a Roman pound. The reverse design of this issue features Majorian standing with a long cross and Victory on a globe while placing his foot on the head of a human-headed serpent, accompanied by the reverse inscription "VICTORI-A AVGGG".
