Reverse: Daphne und Apollon; to r., draped Apollo moving left; right arm grasping laurel tree; to l., Daphne kneeling in front of a tree and embracing it with both arms. Legend: ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΑΤΩΝ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 7.89 g (mean of 3 recorded specimens) and a diameter of 24–25 mm (from 3 recorded specimens). Historical context

Publia Licinia Julia Cornelia Salonina was an Augusta of the Roman Empire and the wife of Emperor Gallienus, who reigned during the imperial period until 268. This bronze coin was struck in her name between AD 253 and 268 at Apollonia ad Rhyndacum, an ancient town situated opposite the delta of the Rhyndacus river in northwestern Anatolia within the region of Mysia.
