Historical context
Germe, also known as Germa, was an ancient town in Mysia situated between the Macestus and Rhyndacus rivers. This civic bronze coin was struck at Germe during the Roman Imperial Period between AD 238 and 244. Its issue took place during the reign of Marcus Antonius Gordianus, known as Gordian III, who ruled as Roman emperor from 238 until his death around February 244.
