Reverse: Nike and Tyche; to l., Nike advancing, r., holding palm-branch and wreath; to r., Tyche standing, l., wearing kalathos, holding rudder and cornucopia. Legend: Є Μ (?) Hadrianeia was an ancient town in Mysia, located near Dursunbey in Asiatic Turkey. During the Roman Imperial Period, this civic coinage was issued under Philip the Arab, who reigned as Roman Emperor from 244 to 249. The obverse depicts his wife, Marcia Otacilia Severa, who was Roman empress during his reign and the mother of co-emperor Philip II.
