Obverse: Head of Kore Soteira left with her hair tied up in a shawl (sakkos), ears of grain, and an earring; below the neck a tunny left. Legend: ΣΩΤΕΙΡΑ. Reverse: Apollo with laurel wreath sitting left on the omphalos covered with woolen bandages and standing on a base, turning his naked torso forward; in his outstretched right hand a patera or plectrum, his left arm resting on a cithara. Legend: ΚΥ-エΙ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 13.2 g (from 1 recorded specimen) and a diameter of 23 mm (from 1 recorded specimen). The corpus assigns the type to the reduced Rhodian weight standard.

Historical context
Cyzicus was an ancient Greek town in Mysia in Anatolia, situated on the shoreward side of the Kapıdağ Peninsula on the south coast of the Sea of Marmara. Originating in Ancient Greece in the late 6th century BC, the silver tetradrachm was nominally equivalent to four drachmae. It became the standard trade coin of Classical Antiquity and was commonly struck in large numbers by Greek cities and polities to pay state expenses such as military costs.
