Coin in bronze struck at Gambrion in Mysia under Gorgion, dated first half of the 4th century BC. Corpus Nummorum, the online type corpus of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, records it as CN type 20560 (period: Classical Period; issuing authority type: ruler).

Obverse: Laureate head of Apollo, left. Reverse: Forepart of butting bull, right. Legend: ΓΟΡ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 0.77 g (from 1 recorded specimen) and a diameter of 9 mm (from 1 recorded specimen). Historical context

Gambrion was an ancient town in Aeolis and Mysia, situated in northwestern Asia Minor near Pergamum. The settlement is recorded in the Hellenica of Xenophon, which describes how Gorgion, son of Gongylos, ruled Gambrion and Palaegambrium in 399 BCE. This bronze issue belongs to the Classical period under Gorgion's authority in the first half of the 4th century BC.
