Historical context

Adramyttion, also known as Adramyttium, was an ancient city located in modern-day Turkey. This civic coin was issued during the Roman Imperial Period under Septimius Severus, who reigned as Roman emperor from 193 to 211. Severus seized imperial power in 193 following the death of the emperor Pertinax and consolidated his rule through extensive military campaigns across the empire before his death in 211.
