Historical context

Nero was Roman emperor from AD 54 until his suicide in AD 68, ruling as the final emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty. Having ascended the throne following the death of Emperor Claudius with the backing of the Senate and the Praetorian Guard, his reign featured diplomatic and military conflicts abroad, including peace with the Parthian Empire and the suppression of a revolt in Britain led by Boudica.

The piece names the emperor on the obverse as "NERO CAESAR AVGVSTVS", accompanied on the reverse by the figure of Concordia and the legend "CONCORDIA AVGVSTA".
