Historical context

His imperial form of address was Imperator Caesar Traianus Hadrianus Augustus. Unlike his predecessor Trajan, Hadrian abandoned expansionist campaigns in favour of developing stable borders, investing in building projects, and unifying the peoples of the Roman Empire.

This coin is an aureus struck at the mint of Rome. The obverse presents the emperor's portrait with the legend "IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG", while the reverse depicts Bonus Eventus carrying a patera and corn ears alongside the title "P M TR P COS III".
