Historical context

This bronze fraction was produced at the Alexandria mint under the authority of Maximinus Daia. Born as Daza, he was admitted to the Tetrarchy as caesar in 305 by his uncle Galerius, an appointment that contributed to the outbreak of the civil wars of the Tetrarchy. He later claimed the title of augustus in 310, ruled as Roman emperor until 313, and was the last person to hold the title of Pharaoh of Egypt.

Struck within the Roman Empire, the issue features the obverse inscription "IMP C CONSTANTIVS P F AVG" accompanying the radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantius Chlorus. The reverse depicts Constantius Chlorus standing and receiving a small Victory on a globe from Jupiter, who leans upon a sceptre, paired with the legend "CONCORDIA M-ILITVM", "CONCORDIA MI-LITVM", "CONCORDIA MIL-ITVM", or "CONCORDIA MILI-TVM".
