Historical context

Licinius served as Roman emperor from 308 to 324, ruling as a colleague and rival of Constantine I before his eventual defeat at the Battle of Chrysopolis and subsequent execution. During his reign, he shared authority over the Roman Empire and co-authored the Edict of Milan granting religious toleration. This coin was minted under his imperial authority at Siscia, located at modern Sisak in central Croatia along the Kupa, Sava, and Odra rivers.
