Historical context

After his father's death, he became Augustus alongside his brothers Constantine II and Constans, taking control of Greece, Thrace, Egypt, and the Asian provinces. His reign involved protracted border wars against the Sasanian Empire and Germanic peoples, as well as internal civil wars and usurpations, before he became sole ruler following the defeat of Magnentius.

Struck at the mint of Constantinople, this bronze and billon AE3 coin features the obverse legend "D N CONSTAN-TIVS P F AVG" accompanying the portrait of the emperor. The reverse depicts a helmeted soldier spearing a bearded, fallen horseman, accompanied by the inscription "FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO".
