Historical context

Theodosius I ruled as Roman emperor from 379 to 395 and was the last emperor to govern the entire Roman Empire. His younger son, Honorius, was elevated to emperor in 393, later ruling the Western Roman Empire following his father's death. This bronze coin was produced between AD 388 and AD 393 at Aquileia, a major Roman city founded as a military colony in 181 BC, depicting Honorius during the reign of Theodosius I.
